the above photograph was taken on august 1st, 1979. it forms part of an incredible 6,697 polaroids captured by a man named jamie livingston - one for almost every day of 18 years. the photographs document his interests, his friends, places he went, and things he saw, and together create a fascinating depiction of his life, right up until his death in 1997. you can see the full collection here,...

the ever-lovely emmy the great, as photographed by new magazine, oh comely. i am quite excited about this project, not only for the fact that it appears to be named after a wonderful song, but also because it simply sounds really rather good - and i quote:
